Did You Know That More than of 80% visual impairment can be treated with just a pair of glasses.

Baseera Is A Non-profit Organization That Is Dedicated To Eradicating And Preventing Simple Vision Disorders Of The Eye Which Are The Leading Causes Of Visual Impairment And Blindness Worldwide.

OUR GOAL IS TO ERADICATE PREVENTABLE BLINDNESS IN OUR COMMUNITIES.

HOW BVI WAS FOUNDED?

BVI was founded by Dr. Yasmin El-Rouby while on a humanitarian trip to Uganda with her dear friend Yasemin Saib, Live it Up Uganda founder and now board member of BVI. This life-changing trip is what inspired her to “share her vision” and make a change.

While conducting eye screenings on the orphans it became apparent how many of these kids live their whole lives without a proper eye test, not knowing what “seeing” really is.

The tragedy is how easy it is, and how little it costs to restore vision to people everywhere with just a little time, effort and money. And the impact of this is not just felt on an individual level but on a societal level through an increase in productivity and a decrease in the negative consequences of visual impairment such as accidents, depression and anxiety disorders that result from visual impairment and blindness.

BASEERA VISION INTERNATIONAL

WHERE WE WORK?

United Arab Emirate:
Since 2016, we have been conducting vision screenings in labor camps across the UAE. With the help of Essilor and Maui Jim we were able to provide brand new glasses and sunglasses to all the laborers in need.

Jordan:
In Partnership with CRP, an NGO in Jordan, we will be organizing vision screenings for the Syrian refugees.
Uganda:

Since 2011 we’ve participated in screenings in schools and orphanages. Our goal for 2019 is to build an eye clinic in Uganda.

Kenya:

Our goal is to provide eye exams for poorer communities near Lake Nakuru in Kenya.

LET YOUR INNER VISION GUIDE YOU…

WHAT WE DO?

Educate about importance of regular eye exams. Eye exams and screenings need to be conducted on a massive scale worldwide to decrease the burden of vision disorders and blindness in communities worldwide, increase productivity and improve quality of life.

To eradicate preventable forms of blindness by correcting refractive disorders of the eyes; and to prevent and treat curable eye diseases and conditions.

To promote civic engagement by encouraging community involvement through donations, volunteering and recycling of eyeglasses and sunglasses.

To improve the quality of life of people in developing countries by promoting public health initiatives that increase awareness and education about common eye disorders and how to prevent them.
